Deepen Exchanges with New Southbound Countries! GIS .FCU Lead the Businesses to Expand Business Opportunities in Thailand

       The GIS Research Center of Feng Chia University (GIS.FCU) organize the Taiwan delegation again to visit the new southbound country for exchanges. Director Jimmy Chou, along with Assistant Director Huang of Computational Intelligence Technology Center, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan Association of Disaster Prevention Industry (TADPI), Taipei Computer Association, EasyMap Digital Technology, Focus Intelligence Technology, SkyEyes GPS Technology, Geosense Digital Technologies, Geo Informatics, Kiwi Technology, GeoThings, DHTech Engineering Consultant and other industrial representatives to visit Bangkok, Thailand from June 25 to 29, 2018 to participate into exchange and visit of the water conservancy and disaster prevention industry.

       In this time, the governmental and research institutions visiting water conservancy and open data in Thailand include Geoinformatics Center of Asian Institute of Technology, Environmental Research Institute of Chulalongkorn University, Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, Department of Public Works, Town & Country Planning, Ministry of Interior, and Thailand's Digital Government Agency and other academic and official institutions; they communicate the issues such as water conservancy, disaster prevention, early warning, disaster reduction, monitoring, Open Data, data exchange, digital government, and hope to establish a further partnership.

       During the 5-day visit, the representatives of the businesses have demonstrated their products and R&D outcomes to Thailand companies. The report contents and application products of the companies have also been valued. In the talks, the issues, especially the establishment of model for the application mechanism of transnational data interconnection and intention cooperation, and further cooperation mechanism for the data platform, risk management, environmental monitoring, water resources management, disaster relief and dispatch and other related technology research and development and product application have been widely discussed. Both sides also have a positive attitude towards the follow-up cooperation. This communication links Taiwan manufacturers and overseas governmental and academic institutions and local channels to expand business opportunities in the future.

       In addition to the government policy and input of resources, expanding of cooperation with new southbound countries needs industrial enterprises, academic, and research sectors to make joint effort in promotion and integration of resources from all sectors and professionals to deepen development of academic research and industry. GIS.FCU together with Computational Intelligence Technology Center, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan Association of Disaster Prevention Industry (TADPI), and Taipei Computer Association, organize industrial delegation to communicate export of technologies such as disaster monitoring, water resources management, information integration platform, open data and other related fields, so as to expand cooperation opportunities and technology export channels and assist Taiwan enterprises to expand new Southbound business opportunities.
