GIS Research Center of Feng Chia University, GIS.FCU for short, is now applying for the “Certified OGC Compliant” certification mark for its new developing software product, Sweet SWE Server. The product implements standards adopted and developed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and one of the implemented standards, Sensor Planning Service (SPS), has passed the compliance testing validated by the OGC TEAM (Test, Evaluation, And Measurement) Engine. There are few software vendors around the world implementing the SPS standard, and none of them obtain the SPS-compliant certification mark. In accordance with the OGC website, the GIS.FCU is the sixth GIS software vendor to both implement the SPS standard and register its product onto the site. GIS.FCU’s Sweet SWE Server will also be the first SPS-compliant GIS product in the globe after receiving the certification.
GIS.FCU has dedicated itself to international cooperation and sensor standards development over the past few years. The Sweet SWE Server is specifically designed to deal with the complicated integration of heterogeneous sensors, substantially reducing the implementation efforts for international standards. The product will support all of the six OGC Sensor Web Enhancement (SWE) standards in the near future, and be launched in February, 2011.
