The 8th AFTIA (Asian Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture) / WCCA (World Congress on Computers in Agriculture) conference will be held between September 3rd and September 6th, 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan. We hereby sincerely invite you to attend this international conference.

The Asian Federation for Information Technology in Agriculture, AFITA was founded in January 24, 1998 in Wakayama City, Japan. The purpose of this organization is to take action on facing similar agricultural difficulties in Asian countries, such as insufficient food and resources. Only international sharing and cooperation for sustainable food productivity on the basis of information sharing and mutual understanding could bring the solution. AFITA is a network created to provide a basis for cooperation among national and international organizations and associations with interest in research and the utilization of information technology in agriculture, food production and environment protection.

AFITA 2012 conference will be held in Taiwan by TAITA (Taiwan Agricultural Information Technology Association) and has been endorsed by WCCA as one of its official activities in 2012. Taiwan has the honor and will take this opportunity to introduce its’ uniqueness and innovation in agriculture development.

This conference strives to provide researchers, professionals and industry practitioners an opportunity to exchange information regarding advancements in the state of art and practice of Information and Communication Technology in agriculture, as well as to identify emerging research topics and define the future directions of agricultural developments.
