2017 105th OGC TC/PC Meeting in New Zealand
The 105th OGC TC/PC Meeting was held in New Zealand during 4th to 7th Dec. 2017, Prof. Jimmy and Dr. How attended the event as the representative of OGC principle member. During this event, Prof. Jimmy presented “the GeoAI development and policy in Taiwan” in GeoAI ad-hoc meeting, “Application on Disaster Prevention in Taiwan and Vietnam”in Emergency Disaster Management DWG; Dr. How provided a joint presentation with OGC staff Gobe to report “The semantic (SRIM API) implementation fromTestbed-13”in GeoSemantic DWG. In addition to that, a potential domain working group for artificial intelligence was also proposed by Dr. Kim, AIST, Japan during the GeoAI ad-hoc meeting, GISFCU has committed to contribute efforts on drafting the charter of GeoAI DWG in following months.MORE
Visiting Thailand for Sharing Soil and Water Conservation Technologies and Industry Exchange
Due to promotion of the New Southbound Policy, Taiwan closely interacts with ASEAN countries. ASEAN countries are the main stronghold for Taiwan's first overseas operation. Facing the increasingly significant impact of global climate change, the New Southbound countries are paying more attention to soil and water conservation and other relevant mitigation work. In order to make the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau (SWCB) establish cooperative relations with the Southbound countries and develops the university-industry-government information sharing platform, Taiwan sent delegation to Thailand to participate into soil and water conservation technologies sharing and industry exchange on 14-19 November.
