During 7th to 10th Nov., Prof. Jimmy and Dr. How represented GIS.FCU to attend the GEO Plenary XIII in St. Petersburg, accompanied with Dr. Franz who represented the National Space Organization (NSPO) of Taiwan. Several separated side events were hold for various purposes regards to global observation issues. The plenary was hosted by ROSCOSMOS and ROSHYDROMET, the official space and environmental monitoring organizations of Russian government. 2016 International Symposium on Remote Sensing (ISRS) had been successfully held on Apr. 20th – 22th, 2016 in Jeju, Korea. ISRS aims at bringing together the researchers, scientists, engineers, and scholar students in all theories and applications of Remote Sensing. Dr. Feng-Cheng (Francis) Lin attended this conference and published two paper: One-The study of Geo-Tagging by Chinese geospatial description using ontology technology; Another- Mapping environmental perception with crowdsourced CityProbe mobile app and weights of evidence model. 2016 Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage Ended Successfully

In the 2016 Dajia Mazu pilgrimage event, the number of downloads of the iOS and Android APPs exceeded 330,000, including more than 154,000 times for iOS and more than 178,000 times for Android, representing a 43% growth over 2015. The number of visitors on “Heavenly Divine Mother Pilgrimage Satellite Positioning Service Network” exceeded 600,000, representing a growth of 20% over 2015. This highlights that not only the Dajia Mazu pilgrimage event is getting bigger year after year, but the participants’ ages are gradually going down, so that the growth rate of APP downloads is twice the growth rate of website browsing.
