During the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the GIS.FCU seized the opportunity to expand international exchanges. From September 26th to September 29th, in Singapore, we participated in the 127th OGC TC/PC meeting and hosted the OGC Asia Forum Summit. Together with spatial information standard experts and scholars from around the world, they engaged in communication, learning, exchange of ideas, presentations, hosting, and sharing of Taiwan’s experiences. Through these activities, they expanded international collaboration opportunities, allowing the world to once again recognize Taiwan!
GIS.FCU was represented by Senior Deputy Director Hao Chen-Yu at the 2023 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IEEE IGARSS), held from July 16th to July 21st in Pasadena, California, USA.
The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted global opportunities for technological exchange. After a 6-year hiatus, Director Jimmy Chou led all department heads of GIS.FCU to participate in the ESRI International User Conference (ESRI UC) held at the San Diego Convention Center from July 10th to July 14th.
The President Yao-Min Fang of Focus Intelligent Technology, GIS.FCU spin-off company, and Senior Vice President Ming-Chang Tsai, along with the head of the Department of Water Resources of the Taoyuan City government, attended the 15th CityNet 2023 Disaster Cluster Seminar in Makati City, Philippines!
The FIG Working Week 2023 was held in Orlando, Florida, from May 28th to June 1st. With the theme “Protecting Our World – Conquering New Frontiers,” the conference gathered hundreds of experts and scholars in surveying and geospatial information from around the world to share their research findings. Director Jimmy Chou Tien-Yin and Dr. Milly Yeh Mei-Ling from GIS.FCU, along with representatives from Taiwan authorities participated in this significant event. They presented Taiwan’s achievements in disaster monitoring and application during the Technical Program session on “Opportunities and Challenges for Climate Change Adaptive Strategies”. Their presentation received enthusiastic feedback from the audience, and discussions on potential future collaborations took place.
